GSUSA 2008 National Convention
The 51st Convention of the National Council of Girl Scouts of the USA will be held October 30 through November 2, 2008 in Indianapolis, Indiana. National conventions are held every 3 years for the purpose of determining the general lines of policy of the Girl Scout Movement and the Girl Scout program. GSSJC is sending 44 delegates to the convention.
Opportunities are available for individuals wishing to attend the 2008 Girl Scout National Council Session / 51st Convention as full time official visitors. To become an official visitor, you must be a registered member of GSUSA, be 14 years of age or older at the time of the convention and pay the registration fees, travel and hotel.
Adults may volunteer to serve as a Parliamentary Aide for the duration of the convention. To be eligible, you must be available to attend a training session prior to the convention, in attendance for the entire National Council Session and understand parliamentary procedure as contained in Robert’s Rules of Order. To apply for a position of Parliamentary Aide, please complete and return the Interest Indicator Form to Dee Dee Johnson as soon as possible but no later than June 30, 2008.
Come and join the delegation. This will be an exciting meeting. We will elect the national board of directors, and hear proposals that will affect the future of the Girl Scout Movement.
